A Camarillo donut shop since 1994
The little building has been feeding people for a long time. It was a burger joint in the 1960s and became a donut shop in the 1970s, owner Ivan Ortiz told the VC Star in 2023. Robert "Bob" Kenny bought it and opened Rolling Pin in 1994.
Ortiz started there as a baker in 2006, worked his way up to manager, and took over the business when Kenny retired in 2021. The shop is only about 400 square feet, and in 2023 its bakers were starting at noon and working until 5am to turn out more than 4,000 donuts a day.
Rolling Pin celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2024, the same year it opened a second, much bigger shop in Ventura. In April 2025 a car crashed into the Camarillo shop, and the owners said it was the first time in 30 years the store had closed. The closure was temporary, and the window is busy again.

- It's a walk-up window. You order at the counter outside, and there are picnic tables out front.
