The definitive 2026 guide. Brunches from Ventura to Ojai, a free waterfront festival, pottery markets, spa gifts, and scenic things to do with Mom β all in one place, kept current by your local directory.
Mother's Day in Ventura County has always felt a little different. The weather is usually perfect, the harbor is busy with Duffy boats, the hills still have spring color, and half the county's moms are happy just to sit outside somewhere beautiful with a mimosa.
This guide is the one I'd hand my own family. I've pulled together every Mother's Day weekend event, brunch, and gift idea happening across the county for 2026 β from Ventura and Oxnard out to Ojai and the Conejo Valley β with reservation links, times, and the real inside tips on what's worth the drive. Pick one, book it, and show up. That's the whole plan.

Good to know
Mother's Day 2026 is Sunday, May 10. Celebration weekend runs Friday, May 8 through Sunday, May 10.
For a view, Water's Edge ($67.50 per person all-day buffet on the harbor) is the easiest pick. For a classic lavish hotel buffet, Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach in the Grand Ballroom. For something smaller and quirkier, Cafe Nouveau downtown is beloved for its maple bacon beignets.
Yes. Ventura Harbor Village hosts Mother's Day Weekend by the Sea both Saturday and Sunday from 12β4 PM β free live music, face painting, and on Sunday a complimentary self-care station. The Ventura Pottery Gallery's Mother's Day Market is also free to browse all weekend.
Start with a walk at the Ventura Botanical Gardens or Gardens of the World in Thousand Oaks, then grab a late lunch somewhere quieter β Paradise Pantry, Cafe Ficelle, or Kraft Vermicelli are all easier to seat last-minute than the hotel buffets.
Now. Water's Edge, Ox & Ocean at Zachari Dunes, Crowne Plaza, and the Four Seasons typically fill up 2β3 weeks out. If you're reading this less than a week before Mother's Day, call the smaller spots β Rocks & Drams, Zaidee's, Mother's Tacos, Rosa Madera β or consider a late-afternoon seating instead of prime 11 AM β 1 PM.
Handcrafted pottery at the Ventura Pottery Gallery market (free to attend, first 20 customers each day get a free ceramic Sugar Saver), a spa package at Plush Med-Spa in Camarillo, or a private-shopping invitation at lululemon Camarillo on Sunday morning. All three are bookable up to the weekend.
