Help Shape the Future of Substance Use Care in California
Across California, people navigating substance use and recovery continue to face stigma, fragmented systems, housing instability, and barriers to treatment — often without representation in the decisions that affect their lives. SUD Voices for Change is building a Consumer Advisory Group of people with real, lived experience in substance use. We’re looking for Californians impacted by substance use, whether they are currently using, in recovery, a loved one who is caring for someone using substances, or a provider working within the system. The Consumer Advisory Group will advise on SUD Voices for Change programs, policies, and advocacy priorities to help ensure our work reflects what communities actually need. Members will share their lived experiences and perspectives to help reduce stigma, strengthen California’s systems of substance use care, and inform meaningful policy and advocacy efforts. Members will participate in monthly virtual meetings and quarterly in-person gatherings. No board or advocacy experience is required. Individuals currently in substance use recovery, family members or loved ones impacted by substance use, support workers, and harm reduction advocates are welcome to apply.
